Working Dogs that Love What They Do

Being a cattle dog is a high stress job. Not any dog can do it…nor should they. We choose dogs that are smart AND sociable. We know that these dogs are good workers, but they’re great family members as well.

Trained for Thousands of Hours

Our main business is in raising beef cattle so our dogs get a huge amount of training in almost any situation that will come up on your farm or ranch. The training doesn’t stop there either. Each dog we make is socialized with our family, making them the best blend of farm hand and family member.

Socialized and Loyal Family Members

These days, dogs have become family members but there is still a pervasive thought in the farming and ranching world that you’ll ruin your dog if you treat her like a pet. We reject that outdated view because we’ve seen how making a working dog a member of the family only strengthens their drive to want to please you.

We Love Red Bluff!

We’ve been going to Red Bluff Bull and Gelding Sale for the past 5 years. In that time we’ve set the record for most money ever made for a dog, and broke our own record two years later! Even though our dogs don’t always win first place in the trials, folks can see the difference that our training method makes. We’re not just creating working dogs, we’re creating family members who work alongside their owners.

In the Summer of 2017 We took Gurdy to the Otis Creek Trial in Drewsey, OR and Won 1st Place.
Summer 2017, Baker City

Gurdy Wins Baker City Trial

Gurdy was on. aroll! We took her to the Baker City Trial and got another first place win in the Summer of 2017
2017 - Winnemucca, NV

January, 2018

Won Red Bluff

In our first trip to the Red Bluff Bull and Gelding auction we took set. arecord for most money ever bid on a dog! $30,000 was the final bid for Gurdy!
Summer, 2018

Ruthe Wins Lagrande, OR Trial

After doing so well with Gurdy, we took Ruthe to the Lagrande, OR trial where she placed first.

Drewsey Places 2nd at Red Bluff

We took Drewsey to Red Bluff in 2019 and she was the second highest selling dog in the group at $10,000

Bonny Takes 2nd Place at Upper Reynolds Creek Classic Dog Trial, 2nd in Winnemucca, and 2nd in Baker City Trial.

Skittles places 1st in Nevada Classic Trial and 2nd at Winnemucca.

Skittles Breaks The Record!

Just 2 years after breaking the record, Jeff returns to Red Bluff with Skittles. Although she placed 4th in the dog trial, she commanded the HIGHEST price ever recorded at the Red Bluff Bull and Gelding sale for a cattle dog at $45,000!

More About Jeff & His Dogs

I’m far from a professional dog trainer but I love good dogs and enjoy my time with my best friends and being able to mold someone else’s future best friend. Being able to use these dogs in my day to day operations at the feedlot I’m able to show my dogs a lot of different cattle and terrain to prepare them for their next stop in life. We get them well socialized with the 180 guys I’m privileged to work with every day.

Being a single dad of 2 boys we have to fit a lot of stuff in a single day and there is a dog in every part of it. Dogs today are not just a tool, but part of our family. They are someone we count on and want to be around. I love seeing how each dog is so different and what they have to offer. As you can imagine, this method of training and socializing definitely makes it harder to see each dog go, but we also know that someone who buys one of OUR dogs is looking for a new family member and they’ll take excellent care. So yes, it’s hard to see them go, but ultimately it makes room for the next pup.
